Before global warming, we were actually able to use the many toys that sit idle in the garage.

We are finally booked! After much searching and planning coordination, we do believe we have a beach house. The places we were interested in the past were either booked for the week we wanted or didn't include linens or beach toys. This is the "Driftwood." It is located in North Litchfield Beach. This beach is located between Myrtle Beach and Pawley's Island. A very nice area! It has five bedrooms, each with a king size bed, sleeps 13, and is ocean front. I like the large kitchen as well. Linens, beach chairs and toys are included ta boot!

Clifton's Landing

We tried to book Bali Indah last night and it is unavailable for our dates needed. We are on a mission to find a new vacation rental. This is "Clifton's Landing." This lovely 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath cottage is across from the pool and a pleasant walk to the beach.

When it's this cold!!!

Everybody wears a hat! If you are inside or out, maybe even twisted, you wear a hat. Number one: because it is sooooooo cold outside, and number two: because nobody wants to sport their hat hair.

Snow day update!

Head transplant was unsuccessful. I thought after watching the entire second season of "Grey's Anatomy" I would be able to perform surgery.

Annie had a great time playing ball and rolling in the snow.

Recent storm center updates forecast about 8 inches of snow in the Bangor area. That's enough to give my snow guy a body. Since his head is so large and already made, I will be performing the first head transplant of snow guy this weekend. Will post pictures!

You can't dress them up?

Big doings in Maine! Can you believe it we are getting snow!?! The buzz today was that we are getting a foot of snow on Friday. As everyone was shocked, inside I was thinking "alright." Now my snow guy will get a body! You can't do much with six inches of snow but make a big snow head. No matter how you dress him up, he still looks like Sadam's half brother.

I can't have that!

My sister commented that my snow guy looks like Sadam's half brother. I can't have that! So Annie and I tried a couple of different looks for snow guy. This is the cowboy effect.

It's about time!!!

This is Michael Drive, as you can see it is a well traveled road. Today was a snow day, so far we have about 5 inches and it's still snowing. Yeah! Annie, Matt and I played ball, shoveled, and made a big snowman head.

We are not the only turkeys who live here!

Today about 12 turkeys roamed our front yard. Matt managed to get pictures of them. I went to visit Butch for his 51st birthday. Rumor has it that Annie went nuts.

Yo Bali People!

We have another taker! Johnnie's son, (the one and only Kip) would like to reserve a room. Johnnie is going to visit with him in Florida the week before and then they will drive up to Bali Indah, South Carolina. It looks like the middle of April is best for everyone. I have Special Olympic swim meets the end of March and the state swim meet the end of April. Matt checked into total charges for Bali, they look a lot like this:
Rent: $1,990.00
Security Deposit: 300.00 (we get this back if we don't trash Bali).
Reservation fee: 40.00
Csa Travel insurance: 144.89 (don't ask me what this is, I am just the planning coordinator).
Total: $2,673.89

Matt worked in Rockland today and picked up fresh scallops and crab cakes from a place he frequents called "Dad's Seafood." While he makes dinner I am dreaming of a beach front vacation. Found some more pictures to share of yet again, Bali Indah.

Bali Indah Baby!!!

In light of the recent band wagon on board for a beach vacation, we are opening up the options to "Bali Indah!" This lovely five bedroom, three bath, oceanfront, (yes folks, I said oceanfront), unit is a mere $1990.00 per week, figure $2100.00 with tax. Split between three couples that's $700.00 per couple. If Uncle Neil wants to join in the fun, we still have 2 spare bedrooms. Single bedroom rentals would be 300.00 for the week. He could bring somebody with him and we could tag her for another 300.00. We still have one bedroom rental available for any takers!?! Comments are welcome.

I want to walk out here in the morning, have coffee, and go for a swim.

Beach update!

Okay, so now Johnnie and Kim want in on the beach vacation. Split three ways we can upgrade? This is "Gull's Cottage." $980.00 per week and closer to the beach. We are looking for input!?!

Vacation in South Carolina

Yo Jerry! This is the vacation rental we talked about earlier. It is 2 rows from the beach, about 100 feet and only $680.00 for the week before May. After then the price jumps. Places on the beach go for about 1200. to 1400. per week. I remember seeing this place during my short term employment at James Smith Real Estate in Pawley's Island and it felt comfortable. You guys in?

Signs of Spring with no Winter in sight.

Who says winter is long in Maine? Today I received the Gurney's Spring seed catalog and the LL Bean Early Spring catalog. We haven't even had winter yet. The temperatures have been 45 degrees and no snow. I want snow!!! All day long I hear people express: "I would rather have rain than snow," and "it could be worse, it could be snow." Winter sports, ie: snowmobiling, skiing, and ice fishing bring millions of dollars into the state of Maine each year. These people fail to see the bigger picture. Without the revenue from the snow, the cost of just about everything goes up. Maine is vacationland, a four season vacation delight!!! Besides, I have a kitty cat snowmobile that I am ready to ride. I guess until the snow arrives, I will just have to order my spring seeds and get a new bathing suit from LL Bean.
