Happy New Year!

Call us twisted, but we have no problem putting these babies in a boiling pot of water. Some people feel it is cruel to put a live animal to their sudden death. Being a true Mainer, I have no issues in killing or eating this delight. Matt and I like to name our lobsters before eating them. This is Chip and Ernie. We raced them on the kitchen counter before sending them to their death. Chip won and that is why I am going to eat him before Matt does.

Keeping up with the neighbors...

After a busy day of shopping, a great lunch, and car maintenance, we returned home to find neighbor Sid and Emily had made the first snowman of the season on Michael Drive. Not to be out done, Annie and I went out and made this guy and played a little ball.

Santa delivered!

God love Santa Matt. I have been having fun playing with my new toy!

Yippee!

Santa brought me great new books! This is Ken Follett's sequel to "Pillars of the Earth," one of my all time favorite books. I cried when I opened it.
Who wouldn't love a book about the best dogs in the world, especially when I live with one.
Thanks Mom and Dad! I love the new bookmark as well. I don't know which one to read first.

..in which I learn something new this holiday season.

Me: Hon, would you like some beef stick and cheese?
Matt: I've never told you this before, but I really don't like beef stick.
Me: It's Hickory Farms.
Matt: It's mystery meat.
Me: Fine, all the more for me, you communist. I'll have it with my smoked oysters.
Matt: I've never told you this either, but please don't kiss me after you eat mystery meat and oysters.

Christmas Eve festivities...

We spent the evening with our good friends, Smitty and Carol.
Matt pondered the true meaning of Christmas.

Carol and I somehow landed under the tree.
They have beautiful old fashioned decorations!
Their log home nestled in the pines is sooooooo comfy!
My dog loves Christmas too! She first ripped off Santa's legs and then his head.

Say hello to friends you know...

Matt and I went out spreading a little holiday cheer. Butch loved his handheld game of Battleship.
He also showed off his new raindeer that sings, dances, and lights up. Actually, I think his mother likes it more than he does.
Elaine doesn't like to have her picture taken, but Johnny and I insisted.

Holiday treats

My friends made me this great collection of treats. The tag was made with the latest and greatest scrapbooking cutting machine which I'm hoping Santa puts under my tree.

Walkin round in women's underwear...

We had more snow today and I made baskets.

They took more effort than I thought they would.

It's the holiday season!!!

Pre-party planning. I love our dining room table because it quickly converts to party/conference mode.
This is Rick who makes the best salsa in the world and is a great bartender.

The best part of having a party is the hostess gifts!
Rick and Carol gave us this beautiful Christmas cactus and pine arrangement.

A couple fishin buddies and a chocolate dog hung out together.

Rita and I, a couple of beach bums and cellah dwellahs. JFK was there in spirit!

Hello Kitty!!!

Our new Arctic Cat arrived as an early Christmas present on Thanksgiving Day.
This two rider sled quickly converts to single rider mode with the flip of a switch. It has a four stroke engine and a 660 motor. Hubba, hubba.
