In light of the recent band wagon on board for a beach vacation, we are opening up the options to "Bali Indah!" This lovely five bedroom, three bath, oceanfront, (yes folks, I said oceanfront), unit is a mere $1990.00 per week, figure $2100.00 with tax. Split between three couples that's $700.00 per couple. If Uncle Neil wants to join in the fun, we still have 2 spare bedrooms. Single bedroom rentals would be 300.00 for the week. He could bring somebody with him and we could tag her for another 300.00. We still have one bedroom rental available for any takers!?! Comments are welcome. Monday, January 08, 2007

Beach update!
Check it out
Yo again Jerry. I added South Carolina beach rentals to my places of interest on the right side of blog so you can check them out. Let me know if you see any others that look good. The cottage I posted last night is called "All in the Family."

Vacation in South Carolina
Yo Jerry! This is the vacation rental we talked about earlier. It is 2 rows from the beach, about 100 feet and only $680.00 for the week before May. After then the price jumps. Places on the beach go for about 1200. to 1400. per week. I remember seeing this place during my short term employment at James Smith Real Estate in Pawley's Island and it felt comfortable. You guys in?Thursday, January 04, 2007
Signs of Spring with no Winter in sight.

Who says winter is long in Maine? Today I received the Gurney's Spring seed catalog and the LL Bean Early Spring catalog. We haven't even had winter yet. The temperatures have been 45 degrees and no snow. I want snow!!! All day long I hear people express: "I would rather have rain than snow," and "it could be worse, it could be snow." Winter sports, ie: snowmobiling, skiing, and ice fishing bring millions of dollars into the state of Maine each year. These people fail to see the bigger picture. Without the revenue from the snow, the cost of just about everything goes up. Maine is vacationland, a four season vacation delight!!! Besides, I have a kitty cat snowmobile that I am ready to ride. I guess until the snow arrives, I will just have to order my spring seeds and get a new bathing suit from LL Bean.

Party on!!!

Our party was great. This is Matt's daughter, Jennifer and her boyfriend, Tony. Jen is always great and I like Tony the more I am around him. He has a great sense of humor, a warm personality, and makes a great Tequila Sunrise!!!

A real tree so perfect, it looks fake.

This is Matt and Smitty, early party participants, fishin fools, and great guys

4 AM conversation with the great white hunter.
Matt: Hon, where's my rattle?
Me: My guess is you left it in your crib many, many years ago.
Matt: Very funny. My deer rattle.
Me: Just what does one do with a deer rattle?
Matt: For 2 to 3 weeks, known as ruttin' season, the bucks have one thing only on their minds, finding a doe.
Me: I find it hard to believe that anything called "buck" only gets horny once a year.
Matt: Yeah, but he has a hard-on for 2 to 3 weeks.
Me: The Viagra commercials warn that any erection lasting more than 4 hours, you should seek medical attention.
Matt: Not when you are called "buck." You use the deer rattle so the buck will think you are a doe and come charging straight for you.
Me: I hope you shoot him before he catches you.
Matt: Not as much as I do.

Still cleaning up "My pictures"
I have been trying to organize "our pictures." In the process I came across this picture of Christina and I at National Games in Iowa. I know I have blogged it in the past, but it is one of my favorite photos. We were just having such a great time and I was so proud to be there with her representing Team Maine!

It makes a village!!!

Annie and I sported our hunter orange and dug up bulbs and planted tulips on Saturday. Sunday morning I woke up to a mess in the kitchen. Annie was rushed to the ER vet due to frequent urination, blood in her urine, and puckin. I know, too much information. She has a bladder infection and is on 2 new meds. The vet said this is common in older dogs. When did my dog get to be older? I swear she was just a puppy and still acts like one.
I am finally at Step 3, glue the pieces.
gluing those little windows in those little houses requires twizzers and patience.

It's coming together and soon to be done.

Run Bambi Run!

Matt put the beans in the crock pot at 4 am and left to chase the elusive white tail deer. I made the rounds to: TJ Maxx, Mardens, and Walmart. Did a little Christmas shopping and treated myself to Ruby Tuesday's for lunch. I am in the thick of Step 2 - paint the little wooden pieces.
This is way more than I anticipated.
