Beer and roses.

Last year at Emily's college graduation Uncle Frank, Uncle Neil, and Aunt Susan snuck outside for a break. Somehow Frank and I ended up discussing our rose gardens. The conversation went something like this:
Frank: You know the best way to get roses to grow is to give them a beer once in awhile.
Me: No kiddin Frank, does it matter what kind of beer I give them?
Frank: Well, I wouldn't give them Heiniken or Corona because they will get used to it and want it all the time.
Frank, Neil, and I giggled like school children. I guess you had to be there. I gave my roses Milwaukee's Best this year, left over from a fishing trip, and they never looked better.

Beer and Roses. It's a good title for a country song.

Was thinking about offering you some money for a scrapbook(s). I want to make it myself, but there is a considerable dearth of equipment here on this freaking pebble. I'll certainly have no time to do it in graduate school, and it would be nice to have something to show the other students so it doesn't seem like I spent two years after college being a punk on a lark.

I wish you could see the Japan scrapbook I made Mom and Dad. It came out quite nice if I do say so myself. I can make it for you but you would enjoy doing it as well. You can get all kinds of supplies right on line. Let me know if you need any help.

We treasure the scrapbook which Susan made of our Japan trip. All the pictures which Angelo took and Susan's esthetic(sp)sense helped the project. If we don't go to Florida soon, I plan to send the book to Jerry so she can see what a good job Susan did.

I attempted to take pictures of the scrapbook Susan made of out Japan trip. They are out of focus, but you can get an idea of the project. They are on my blog in a photo album.
