Oh Deer!




There is a red deer farm about 2 miles from our house on the Horseback Rd. The venison is sold to gourmet restaurants internationally.





I think they are quite cute. We don't know what the yellow tags mean on their ears. Matt thinks it is rare, med rare, and well done.

Do you serve red wine with red deer and white wine with white-tailed deer? Beaujolais with Bambi?

Personally I would rather skip the wild meat altogether and just drink the wine, red or white.

Grand Lake Streamer Ethel Foss would shoot them all at one time. The woods mentality must kill any animal even if there is no need. Remember the Lowell kids tramping frogs and fish on our warf?
